 久々のECM録音のソロ作品です。
上のAnthem以来なので5年ぶりですね。

主にclassical guitar、いわゆるガットギターでの演奏です。
変わらぬTownerのギターもECMの音。あの身を切るような冷徹さに加えて、ガットの穏やかな演奏も聴けます。
Oregonの新作での演奏は明るく爽やかなものになってますが、こちらは緊張感溢れる曲想が多くなってます。
最後の2曲は12弦での演奏。Townerの独壇場といったところです。

 これはLPで入手。
ECMでは何故か廃盤です。
正直に言うと、デュオものってあまりピンと来ないことが多いのですが、これは「らしい」感じでなかなか良いですね。
ただ、アバークロンビーとタウナーの語法が違うところに耳が行ってしまうと、ちょっと違和感があるかも。
それが楽しめれば言うこと無し、です。

いわゆる「完全コピー」ものではありませんが、開放弦を使ってオープンヴォイシンングの中に長2度のクローズドヴォイシングを作る指使いなど、タウナーの サウンド構成法が判ります。

8曲/48分の比較的短めの収録ですが、お馴染みの曲が並んでます。

ビデオ作品というよりは記録映像という感じですが、何の演出も無い分、ギターを弾く人には嬉しいかも。
殆ど固定アングルで指使いなど解り易い映像です。
